Jo-Anne Maslawski Preston is a painter, calligrapher and a carpet designer residing in New York City.  She holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Fine Arts and Art History and has studied printmaking.

As a painter, she has exhibited both nationally and abroad in Galleries and Museums.  Her painting inspiration comes from a unique combination of experiences living in Europe, the Middle East and the United States and her imagination.  She has a  love for pattern and the decorative arts and enjoys painting women.  She is a firm believer in the importance of good drawing skills.

She has had a long career as Art Director of Edward Fields, Incorporated where she designed and rendered custom rugs for various clients including the White House, American Embassies, Governors' Mansions, numerous movie stars and dignitaries, and most recently the Queen Victoria Ship. Since 2008, she is designing rug collections for Marc Phillips Decorative Rugs in New York City.

As a calligrapher, she has been executing Ketubot for many years.  These custom artistic documents embody both Hebrew and English Calligraphy, decorative art work and illumination.  She has taught courses on Ketuba making at the New School for Social Research.
